We’re so excited to be able to release our first film score, for the short “Light Between Us”, directed by Cameron Veitch.
Film has been a true love in all of our lives, and being able to create music for it is something we’ve been wanting to experiment with as Capitol for a long time.

“Light Between Us” is a story about attempting to communicate to a loved one when worlds apart. We wanted to capture the beauty and the horror, the love and the fear seen in the short. In the film there’s an interplay of different mediums: VHS footage, audio tapes, and developed photographs, so tonally integrating a lo-fi/analog warmth into the music was very important to us.
The soundtrack is also unashamedly an ode to some of our electronic & ambient heroes; M83, Vangelis, Mica Levi, and of course, Brian Eno.

Endless thanks to our friend, the brilliant Walker Grimshaw for mastering the soundtrack.
